Santiago Marin
About
I am currently a Statistics Ph.D. student at the Australian National University (ANU), working under the supervision of Dr. Bronwyn Loong, Dr. Anton Westveld, and Prof. Michael Martin.
Research
I like to sample from posterior distributions! More precisely, my research interests span from Bayesian methods and theory to computational aspects of Bayesian analysis, with particular emphasis on:
- Bayesian nonparametrics
- Discrete random measures
- Monte Carlo and Markov chain Monte Carlo methods
- Bayesian variable selection and shrinkage priors
- Uncertainty quantification
- Probabilistic machine learning
- Applications of all of the above
If you are interested in my research, please feel free to kindly get in touch. I can best be reached through email. See below for my contact details.
If you ever visit ANU, please pop in and say hi!
News
- The article, “Adaptive Shrinkage with a Nonparametric Bayesian Lasso”, was accepted for publication in JCGS! 🎉
- The article, “BOB: Bayesian optimized bootstrap for approximate posterior sampling in Gaussian mixture models”, was accepted for publication in Statistics and Computing! 🥳
