Santiago Marin
About
I am currently a Statistics Ph.D. student at the Australian National University (ANU), working under the supervision of Dr. Bronwyn Loong, Dr. Anton Westveld, and Prof. Michael Martin.
Research
I like to sample from posterior distributions! More precisely, my research interests span from Bayesian methods and theory to computational aspects of Bayesian analysis, with particular emphasis on Bayesian nonparametrics, discrete random measures, Monte Carlo and Markov chain Monte Carlo methods, Bayesian variable selection and shrinkage priors, probabilistic machine learning, simulation-based inference, and uncertainty quantification.
If you are interested in my research, please feel free to kindly get in touch. I can best be reached through email. See below for my contact details.
If you ever visit ANU, please pop in and say hi!
News
- The article, “Adaptive Shrinkage with a Nonparametric Bayesian Lasso”, was accepted for publication in JCGS! 🎉
- The article, “BOB: Bayesian optimized bootstrap for approximate posterior sampling in Gaussian mixture models”, was accepted for publication in Statistics and Computing! 🥳
